Anabelle is a 6 year old OTTB Mare.   She has lived with her current owner since November 2006.
Anabelle raced several times and went straight from the race track to her current home.  Anabelle was
on a diet of alfalfa hay for 3 years.  She has just switched over to a mix of 80/20 grass alfalfa.  She is
also getting 1 quart of grass pellets to supplement her hay diet.  She is barefoot & sound.  She does
appear to have some ulcer/stomach disturbance.  Her body/muscles were very tight.  Her biggest
issues are hives that appear during the seasonal changes.  The hives are large and open, with a crust
on top.  She has the beginnings of an itchy belly near the umbilical site.  She was traditionally
vaccinated in April of this year for W.Nile, Tetanus 3-way.  She is traditionally wormed.  Her job is as a
pleasure riding horse.  Her attitude at our meeting was a mixture of aloofness and eventual curiosity.
She doesn't seem to worry, she's just a little skeptical from being a track horse. Below are photos from
our meeting today.  She will be switching to a mineral balanced diet in a couple of weeks.

Here are some updated Photos of Anabelle.  She has been on Added Vit. E and ground Flax since
the middle of August.  She was also given some herbs to help detox her body.  She began her
balanced minerals aprox. two weeks ago.

Since beginning her new diet her owner has observed the following changes.  Anabelle's coat is
softer and she did not get hives all over her body this year.  The hives have been pretty bad in
years past.  Her eyes were sensitive this summer to allergens, but that is clearling.  Her attitude was
great this last time I saw her, she seemed very relaxed.
