This is NellieRose.  She is a 23yr. old Arab mare.  She has lived with her current owner since 2006.
she has been a broodmare and a riding horse.  Her current job is as a pleasure horse.  She is lightly
ridden.  Her diet for the last 3 years has been straight alfalfa.  She currently gets about 1 quart of
grass pellets and 1 quart of wellsolve.  She also gets a mixture of Chinese herbs.  She is barefoot.
Her owner says she can get grumpy and lately tires a bit more easily when being ridden.  She has
been routinely vaccinated for Rabies, West Nile, Flu and a tetanus 3-way.  She is herbally wormed
every 8 weeks.  She suffered a bad trailer accident/injury much earlier in her life.  She had
extensive damage to the chest area.  Her attitude at our meeting was cautious but sweet.  She can
worry.

Below are the photos from our first meeting.  Nellie Rose will be switching over to a mineral
balanced diet.  Her hay has also been changed to a grass hay mix of 80/20.

Nellie Rose has been on Vit. E and ground Flax for a little over a month.  She began her balanced mineral
diet aprox. 2 weeks ago.   NellieRose's attitude during our meeting was far more relaxed than her first
one.  She seemed at ease.  Although the picture I took is just terrible, her body looks significantly
different to me than the first time we met.  Her muscles are more relaxed, her belly seems to be
relatively pain free and her coat texture was very soft.  I promise to get better pics the next time that
actually reflect how she looks.
