Two and half months since my last update. Shadow is doing very well. Her body has continued to
change, shes lost a bit more weight, leaving her with a body condition score of about 5. Her
muscling is also changing, shes becoming more mature. Her hooves are in the best shape they
have ever been despite the months of rain and mud. No thrush in sight, just beautiful, healthy,
strong hooves with no sensitivity at all. She is able to work very comfortably on hard packed gravel
with loose sometimes, pointy gravel on top of it, so not the most forgiving surface.
Her coat is the only area that we still struggle with a bit. The hay we have been feeding is very very
high in iron, so she is most likely iron overloaded, although we have never tested for it, its just a
natural assumption with physical evidence. When ever the mineral balance gets at all off, it really
really reflects in her coat.
